What's Poetry to me?
It's much more than the words sprawled on the pages of a book or on my screen. Poetry breathes, damn! Maybe more than I do, dunno. But I surely believe that because I've read poems that gives life to me, poems that awakens the Void and the abstract world that exist in my head and on paper.
It started with the recom
mended poems in secondary school. The flow was so smooth that I was always excited whenever we're given assignment to write our interpretation, to actually dissect the poems, line by lines.
Shakespearea is one great inspiration, I sure do love him and his books. He's like my role model or mentor.
Robert Frost's _Birches_ and _Fire and Ice_ are awesome poems.
Back then, I was able to recite the recommended poems everytime because I was always writing about them.
Then there was Teacher Anuta, I love that man so much, I love his poems more. So simple and sharp that they awaken the senses in me. It's actually a great honor for me to be working together with him on a project, I can't be more glad. It's like having Shakespeare in your dm๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ.
Although I honestly can't relate to half of my poems, I'm part of those lesser population of poets who didn't start writing as a result of an experience. Poetry has just been there, like Ellah do tell me, just a tap into it and boom. That boom is usually nonsense๐น๐น๐น๐ at least that's what I usually think until someone says hey it's awesome and I'm always like really?
Is it weird to say at times i don't understand my poems, I'm that weird, but poetry is everything. I can't stop writing it, I once stopped and it was horrible, heck, I cried so much but it came back.
I also love how easy it is for my to express my imagination through Poetry within small time. Most of my poems are written in few minutes or less than, and some surely do take days๐น๐น๐น๐๐.
Poetry is larger than life itself, it's an art form not only to be imagined but felt, witnessed and something I can happily wallow in.
