Thrills

They say every writer's dream is to publish his or her work, I just achieved that feat yet it was with mixed feelings. I was so unsure about a thousand things, the excitement and fear that ripples through me is out of this world. Damn! Who cries while writing an acknowledgement? I'm just excited about my book. Writing Memoirs of Love and Loss was a weird adventure for me, writing the first memoir in a day, like that's the longest poem I've ever written, then the second memoir made me feel like I'll never complete it. It was so different yet real and vivid. I can spend a whole day talking about it.
There's just this thrill that comes with the book, it's inexplicable, maybe when you read it, you'll find out. I really hope you will, be sure to tell me about it.  As I promised, I'll state the release date for my debut anthology. Memoirs of Love and Loss will be available for download in an eBook format for free( Yeah) right on my blog, the download link would be on my next blogpost, on Amazon, Lulu and other online marketing channels on the 15th of February,2020.
By the way, many thanks to those who shared, viewed and commented on my last blogpost. I love y'all.

What is Poetry to me?

What's Poetry to me?

It's much more than the words sprawled on the pages of a book or on my screen. Poetry breathes, damn! Maybe more than I do, dunno. But I surely believe that because I've read poems that gives life to me, poems that awakens the Void and the abstract world that exist in my head and on paper.

It started with the recom
mended poems in secondary school. The flow was so smooth that I was always excited whenever we're given assignment to write our interpretation, to actually dissect the poems, line by lines.

Shakespearea is one great inspiration, I sure do love him and his books. He's like my role model or mentor.
Robert Frost's _Birches_ and _Fire and Ice_ are awesome poems.

Back then, I was able to recite the recommended poems everytime because I was always writing about them.

Then there was Teacher Anuta, I love that man so much, I love his poems more. So simple and sharp that they awaken the senses in me. It's actually a great honor for me to be working together with him on a project, I can't be more glad. It's like having Shakespeare in your dm๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

Although I honestly can't relate to half of my poems, I'm part of those lesser population of poets who didn't start writing as a result of   an experience. Poetry has just been there, like Ellah do tell me, just a tap into it and boom. That boom is usually nonsense๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ’” at least that's what I usually think until someone says hey it's awesome and I'm always like really?

Is it weird to say at times i don't understand my poems, I'm that weird, but poetry is everything. I can't stop writing it, I once stopped and it was horrible, heck, I cried so much but it came back.

I also love how easy it is for my to express my imagination through Poetry within small time. Most of my poems are written in few minutes or less than, and some surely do take days๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ˜น๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”.

Poetry is  larger than life itself, it's an art form not only to be imagined but felt, witnessed and something I can happily wallow in.

AFTERMATH

AFTERMATH Blood waltzes past the dust Sound of bones clacking echoes beneath the earth's crust For the clouds has let loose its many woe...
